Former gubernatorial candidate Lorena Beaurregard has sounded the alarm over the escalating violence in Tabasco, describing the state as “hell” and warning that it could soon be worse than Sinaloa.
Rising Violence
Beaurregard highlighted that executions and massacres have become daily occurrences, putting everyone, including women and children, in danger. She criticized Governor Javier May for being away in Mexico City while Tabasco residents face increasing risks.
Lawlessness and Impunity
“Tabasco is a land without law,” Beaurregard stated, pointing out that families are exposed to danger due to the impunity with which armed groups operate, whether on busy highways, deserted roads, or in Villahermosa neighborhoods.
Ineffective Security Measures
Beaurregard questioned the effectiveness of deploying over 3,000 soldiers to the state, arguing that their presence has not improved public security. She criticized the current administration’s approach to tackling insecurity, suggesting that Morena rulers are part of the problem.
Call for Accountability
She called on Governor May to explain the narco-banners that mention him and his officials allegedly making pacts with criminal groups. Beaurregard demanded answers on why executions and massacres are increasing and when the governor plans to restore peace to Tabasco.
