If you are planning to visit the striking Rancho Betty sunflower field, located in González, Tamaulipas, this weekend, it is important that you take precautions. This tourist attraction announced a temporary closure due to weather causes, but its organizers hope to resume activities soon.
Adrián Villafaña, a member of the Rancho Betty logistics team, confirmed that this Friday, November 15, access to the public was restricted due to the heavy rains recorded on Thursday night and during the early morning of this day.
Reasons for the temporary closure of the sunflower field
“We inform all our visitors that today the Rancho Betty Sunflower Field will be closed for reasons beyond our control due to bad weather,” they communicated through their Facebook page.
Villafaña explained that the accumulated rains, up to two inches, have left the accesses to the field very muddy, making pedestrian and vehicular traffic difficult. However, he mentioned that they trust that by the afternoon the conditions will improve.
“I hope that after noon we will be ready to receive visitors. We will announce with a live broadcast on our social networks when it is safe to enter,” he said.
He invited visitors to be attentive to updates and assured that the field will be open on Saturday and Sunday, as long as weather conditions allow.
They recently held the inauguration
He commented that the visiting hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an entrance fee of 25 pesos. In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy food stands, sale of items and ideal settings for photographs.
It should be remembered that this crop has the purpose of collecting seeds for the production of oil, which are taken to a factory established in the state of Michoacán.
Rancho Betty recently inaugurated this yellow carpet of approximately 400 hectares, located at the foot of Cerro del Bernal. Mayors and authorities from Tamaulipas were present at the event.
During the event, a recognition was given to producer Fred Nadolph for his outstanding work in the sunflower fields, which was received on his behalf by his daughter, Betty Nadolph.
So, if you plan to enjoy this natural spectacle, check the social networks of Rancho Betty to confirm its reopening and avoid setbacks, since this Friday they announced its temporary closure.
