State government ordered operations to regulate foreign vehicles

The operations aimed at stopping vehicles of foreign origin that circulate without being duly legalized in the country, are part of instructions issued by the State Security Board, promoted by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda, to reinforce security in the region.

The president of Zihuatanejo, Liz Tapia Castro, commented in an interview that the focus is on cars with license plates that do not have official validity or registration within the national system; seeking to ensure that all vehicles comply with the regulations.

She pointed out that thus, prevention is to avoid possible security risks by not being able to verify antecedents or reports of theft. The filters remain itinerant and are headed by Transit and Navy.

The mayor called on the owners to carry out the necessary procedures at the Finance Secretariat, where free permits are offered while the required documentation is regularized.
