
Veracruz ranks first in the country with the most bank robberies recorded in the last six years.
The data agency TReshearch indicated that in the last federal six-year term, 161 complaints were recorded in Veracruz from 2018 to 2024.
At the national level, during the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, 1,404 bank robberies were recorded.
The states with the highest incidence of bank robberies in AMLO’s six-year term are Veracruz, State of Mexico and Morelos, where 30 percent of the cases were concentrated.
Mexico reported 134 cases and Morelos 123. They are followed by Mexico City with 119, Oaxaca with 112, Sinaloa with 106, Jalisco with 100, Puebla with 91 and Michoacán with 88, to mention a few entities.
In the banking institutions of the state of Veracruz, protective measures are applied to avoid these incidents.
On the walls of the banks there are photographs of the subjects who have been captured by video surveillance cameras committing the robberies.
