Around 700 families and five thousand people have been indirectly affected economically by the closure of 70 establishments and 20 voluntarily, including clubs, bars and restaurants.
This is a result of the operations carried out by state and municipal authorities after the attack on the Los Cantaritos bar. David Rivera, who is assistant manager at a nightclub, said that they are asking the State Government for a dialogue table, to stop the operations and an extension to reopen these 90 establishments, with the commitment that they regularize and comply with all security measures.
He warned that as a consequence of the measure to close at 1:30 a.m., this could cause young people to decide to go to other states to have fun, which could cause fatal car accidents, even the proliferation of clandestine parties or the sale of clandestine alcohol.
He also considered that this measure of restricting hours would affect even more economically the workers of clubs, bars and restaurants in December, which is a time when they receive their Christmas bonus. He asked that the nightlife not be demonized.
