A woman was shot and killed and the driver of the flatbed car she was traveling in was injured in events that occurred early Monday morning in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta.
Everything happened when a woman got into a Chevrolet Onix flatbed car outside a Guadalajara pharmacy on Independencia Street at the intersection with Prisciliano Sánchez, in the Los Tamarindos neighborhood.
The driver started the car and had barely gone a few meters when they were intercepted by a pickup truck and a car, from which armed men got out and opened fire.
In his attempt to escape, the driver got on the median strip and headed toward the La Esperanza neighborhood, which was the passenger’s destination.
Finally, the driver reached the intersection of Río Sonora and Río Santa María streets, where the driver stopped, noticed that the woman was not responding to his calls and called 911.
Shortly after, the police and paramedics arrived, who confirmed the death of the woman, identified as Brenda Tatiana, 32 years old, a resident of the Las Flores neighborhood, who had a bullet wound in the head and two more in the body. The driver suffered a bullet wound in the hip and was taken to a hospital.
At the scene, the authorities located around 30 shell casings of different calibers that were secured by Forensic Science experts.
Agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office and Forensic Science experts arrived at the site to remove the body and begin the investigations of the case under the femicide protocol.
