La Paz ranks first in the 2024 Urban Competitiveness Index

The municipality of La Paz has been highlighted as a leader in the 2024 Urban Competitiveness Index of the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO). In the category of cities with populations between 250,000 and 500,000 inhabitants, La Paz is ranked first thanks to its performance in key indicators such as: economic development, innovation, security, mobility and environmental sustainability. According to the results published by the IMCO, the city of La Paz shows one of the best figures in perception of security of the adult population, placing itself in third place nationwide.

In addition, La Paz stands out for registering one of the highest percentages of hotel occupancy, a reflection of its strength in the tourism sector. It also has an outstanding proportion of research centers in relation to the economically active population. In the labor field, full-time workers receive the highest monthly salaries, which strengthens the well-being of its inhabitants and raises their quality of life.

In this evaluation, La Paz surpasses cities such as Los Cabos, Playa del Carmen, Monclova-Frontera and Nuevo Laredo, among others that are in the same population range.
