Winter in Canada can be magical, but how about some sun and culture in Yucatán? The Yucatán Tourism Promotion Secretariat has exciting news for travelers and adventurers: the direct flight between Toronto (YYZ) and Mérida (MID), operated by WestJet, is back. This connection, established in 2015, brings the cultural and natural richness of the Yucatán Peninsula closer to our northern friends.
New Schedule and Increased Frequency
This season introduces a significant update: for the first time, the route will have two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting December 19. This means more opportunities to enjoy the warmth of the Mexican Caribbean, its exquisite cuisine, and unique Mayan heritage.
Flight Details
– Toronto to Mérida: Departs at 10:05 AM, arriving at 1:41 PM.
– Mérida to Toronto: Departs at 2:40 PM, arriving at 7:45 PM.
– Aircraft: A comfortable Boeing 737-800 with a capacity of 174 passengers.
This announcement not only celebrates the closeness between the two regions but also underscores Yucatán’s commitment as a world-class destination. The state continues to attract visitors with its cultural diversity, paradisiacal beaches, and unforgettable experiences.
