There are 2,695 cases of dengue in Querétaro

During the first eleven months of the year, Querétaro has already recorded 2,695 positive cases of dengue and two deaths, with women being the most affected with 1,604 infections, compared to 1,091 men.

According to the weekly epidemiological monitoring report of the State Health Secretariat (SESA), 49.3% of the cases have occurred in the Querétaro capital, which has 1,331 people infected with dengue.

In the municipal mapping, it indicates that two cases have been registered in the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil, 225 in Arroyo Seco, 39 in Cadereyta de Montes, three in Colón, 41 in Corregidora, 24 in El Marqués, three in Ezequiel Montes, one in Huimilpan, 284 in Jalpan de Serra, 28 in Landa de Matamoros, seven in Pedro Escobedo, 441 in Peñamiller, nine in Pinal de Amoles and 257 in Tolimán.

The state agency explained that, of the two thousand 624 cases, two thousand 90 cases are non-severe dengue, 552 cases with dengue with warning signs and 53 cases with severe dengue.

And it compares that, at the national level, as of November 25, 113 thousand 925 positive cases of dengue and 303 deaths from this cause have been reported.

Dengue cases increase by 3% in Querétaro

The State Health Secretariat (SESA) called for measures to be adopted and reinforced in view of the increase in the number of dengue cases, to eliminate all types of mosquito breeding sites, to protect against mosquito bites and to seek timely medical attention in case of symptoms.

It explained that, in the case of the vector brigades, they have entered 101 localities, having a concentration of 47 tons of mosquito repellents, they carried out larval control actions, placing mosquito repellent in 47,815 houses and 201,500 containers for the protection of 127,585 inhabitants; intra-household spraying was carried out in 10,275 houses, protecting 111,075 inhabitants.

In addition, it indicates, spatial fumigation was carried out in 25,844 hectares; 21,728 ovitraps were placed in risk locations, with the collection of 251,400 eggs.

He explained that dengue is a disease caused by a virus that is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito (Aedes aegypti); anyone can suffer from it, even those who were previously infected.

And, among the signs or symptoms that can occur due to this infection are fever and at least one of the following: intense headache, nausea and/or vomiting, general malaise, muscle or joint pain, pain behind the eyes and rash.

“The severity data are: intense abdominal pain, fatigue, persistent or bloody vomit, drowsiness and bleeding from the gums and nose, urine or excrement,” he added and warned that there is no specific treatment, so its approach is symptomatic.
