On Tuesday night, in the heart of the Historic Center, a fire broke out at the facilities of the renowned Mazatlán Art Museum, which was already under control thanks to the coordinated work between Mazatlán Firefighters, Veteran Firefighters and municipal and state Civil Protection.
It was reported that one person, who was apparently working on fumigation work at the site, suffered minor burns and was treated on site by personnel from the Mazatlán Red Cross and did not require transfer to a hospital.
Saúl Robles Chávez, commander of the Mazatlán Firefighters, reported that the causes of the fire are unknown at this time.
Óscar Osuna Tirado, municipal coordinator of Civil Protection, was also interviewed at the site and stated that the fire occurred on the right side of the building, in the offices of the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa (Codesin), and that it was a large fire.
He added that fortunately they managed to put out the fire without it reaching other parts of the building.

He explained that around 30 elements of the different corporations such as Municipal Transit, Public Security and rescue and aid corps participated, in order to protect the area and attack the fire to avoid damage to third parties.
The municipal official said that a structural review of the building will be carried out to determine the damage and they are still working on cooling the building, until there are conditions for the inspection work.
