In a joint operation between federal and state forces, Manuel “N”, alias El Many, was arrested, identified as the alleged leader of the criminal cell Los Caballeros Templarios, after a series of clashes between criminal groups in the Tierra Caliente region, Michoacán.
The operation was carried out during patrols carried out by personnel of the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the Civil Guard on Calle Nacional in Parácuaro, Michoacán, where an armed man was detected.
Upon intervention, the security forces managed to capture El Many, 52 years old, considered a priority target in the security strategy of the area.
At the scene, a 5.56×45 caliber rifle, 30 live cartridges, a charger and a Volkswagen Touareg vehicle with factory armor were seized from him.
During the same operation, Adrián “N”, alias Nery, 21 years old, alleged member of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), was also arrested.
According to his own statement, he was hiding from El Many, who was supposedly pursuing him with the intention of killing him.
Both detainees, along with the weapons and the seized vehicle, were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities, who will determine their legal situation in the next few hours.

The second time he was arrested was in May 2020 when he belonged to the La Nueva Familia Michoacana (LNFM) cartel in the municipality of Parácuaro, captured by members of the Mexican Army and the Ministerial Police, in an operation that allowed them to search his safe house.
Previously, Many was a close profile to Nazario Moreno González El Chayo, founder and late leader of Los Caballeros Templarios.
Many Carrillo joined the civilian self-defense groups to try to cover up his criminal activities, creating links with the Los Viagras cartel, headed by the Sierra Santana brothers.
After the extinction of the Self-Defense Groups, he remained as the plaza boss of La Nueva Familia Michoacana (Los Viagras) in Parácuaro.
After several disputes, two years ago he regrouped Los Caballeros Templarios, currently headed by Homero González “El Gallito”, nephew of Nazario Moreno.
Currently Los Viagras maintain an alliance with the CJNG, to fight against the alliance of the Tepalcatepec Cartel (of Juan José El abuelo Farías) and Los Caballeros Templarios.
The state of Michoacán has maintained a climate of insecurity in recent weeks, from January to December there have been 1,388 homicides throughout the state.
