The Secretary of Public Works of the state of Zacatecas, José Luis de la Peña Alonso, reported that the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) is about to conclude the review of the executive project for the second floor of the metropolitan boulevard.
In an interview, he announced that, once the authorization of “viability” from the federal authority is obtained, construction will begin: “We are just a few days away from starting,” he assured.
Hycsa Group rejects ‘bribes’ on the second floor of Zacatecas
Despite the delays that the work has suffered, he declared that there is time to execute the road, which would be built in a period of approximately 25 months.
It should be noted that the draft budget for the year 2025 does not include more resources for the work, since the resources allocated in previous years would be used to carry out the first stage of the road.
In this regard, the governor, David Monreal Ávila, commented that there was no need, for the moment, to allocate more resources for the next fiscal year in the economic package, because there are about 1,500 million pesos available for the first stage.
He denied that the lack of allocations in 2025 puts the execution of the second floor at risk.
“Not only that is planned, but also the commitment of the President of the Republic to support with 1,000 million pesos,” said the governor. It should be noted that the work will cost 3,654 million pesos.
In January 2024, the state government declared Calzada Construcción S.A. de C.V. as the winner of the public tender for the construction of the elevated viaduct in association with Construcciones y Derogados del Sureste, both from the state of Tabasco and subsidiaries of the Hycsa Group.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works clarified that Grupo Hycsa’s commitment to “use” local suppliers and hire Zacatecan labor through state construction companies remains in place, which will benefit the state’s economy.
