More than 100,000 visitors enjoy a wide gastronomic richness in Morelos

The 2024 edition of the “Sabor es Morelos” gastronomic festival, held in the Historic Center of Cuernavaca, achieved the attendance of more than 104 thousand people and an economic impact of more than 159 million pesos, reported authorities from the Ministry of Tourism. This event reinforces the position of Morelos as a gastronomic and cultural reference both nationally and internationally.

In this regard, the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Daniel Altafi Valladares, highlighted that the success of this event, coordinated by the private initiative with the support of the state government, reflects the firm commitment of the administration headed by Governor Margarita González Saravia to strengthening tourism and the economic development of the entity. Likewise, he stressed that this initiative is aligned with the transformative vision of the governor, oriented to the well-being and prosperity of all Morelos residents.

The official explained that the figures were obtained through a survey applied by the Ministry of Tourism itself, allowing significant data to be collected to design and improve future editions of the festival and strategic events for the sector. These data ensure that the offer meets the expectations of the public, offering more enriching experiences.

In this regard, he pointed out that the demographic profile of the attendees reflected significant diversity. The average age was 36.3 years, with a female participation of 49 percent. In terms of origin, 71 percent of the attendees were residents of Morelos, with the municipalities of Cuernavaca and Jiutepec standing out mainly.

In addition, there was a notable influx of national tourists from states such as Mexico City, Chiapas, Guerrero, Jalisco, Puebla, Querétaro and Tabasco, as well as international visitors from Germany, the United States, Canada, Colombia and Spain. This confirms the attraction that the state exerts on various segments of tourism.

Regarding attendance patterns, 41.7 percent of visitors came with their families, while the rest attended in groups of friends or as a couple. This behavior highlights the inclusive and family-oriented nature of the festival, aligned with the values ​​of integration and social cohesion promoted by the current administration.

Altafi Valladares stressed that one of the main conclusions of the study was the high satisfaction of the public, since 98.63 percent of the people surveyed expressed their intention to return for future editions of the festival. In addition, they highlighted that this type of event encourages social interaction and cultural identity, fundamental pillars for the comprehensive development of the entity.

Finally, the Secretary of Tourism emphasized that the success of events such as “Sabor es Morelos” positions the state as a strategic destination thanks to its infrastructure, natural beauty and gastronomic offering, key elements to attract both tourists and entrepreneurs interested in investing in the region.
