The new area that the Government of Nuevo León recovered from Fundidora Park is projected to begin operations in the summer of 2026, within the framework of the FIFA World Cup and will be part of the venues for the Fan Fest events.
Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda conducted a tour of the area where Fiesta Aventura and Plaza Sésamo previously operated to learn about the areas of opportunity, infrastructure plans and land conditions.
The site was licensed to a group of businessmen who operated the amusement park, which included mechanical games, however the COVID-19 pandemic generated a drop in resources due to low ticket purchases and by mutual agreement it was decided to return the 10 hectares to the government.
“With these actions, we return to Nuevo León its land, because this is Nuevo León land, and never again, land that is now scarce, is lost or sold; when on the contrary, the State is there to recover it and put it at the service of Nuevo León,” said the state leader.

It was reported that the Government has recovered 120 hectares between the area of La Pastora, which was licensed for the operation of Bosque Mágico, another amusement park with mechanical games, and Parque La Huasteca, which for different reasons was not in charge of the state administration.
“They told us many times, they will never be able to recover Plaza Sésamo and give it back to the people of Nuevo León, and here we are today, communicating and announcing that we were able to change history and add to the government of the State a grain of sand of a legacy,” said Bernardo Bichara Assad, president of the Board of Directors of Parque Fundidora.
The Government is currently analyzing the options to see the areas that will be made free so that the general public, as well as national and foreign tourists, can enjoy the place.
