The construction of the Pachuca-Sahagún state highway will be completed in February, the Secretariat of Public Infrastructure and Urban Development (SIPDUS) reported.
This state agency announced that the old asphalt was in terrible condition, so they allocated an investment of 266 million pesos to the work and completely reconstructed the 5.8 kilometer road, which is the Everardo Márquez boulevard, with hydraulic pavement.
SIPDUS assures that the use of cement will allow to extend the life of this road with its respective maintenance, which is considered one of the most important that connects the capital of Hidalgo with the Altiplano region.

In such a way that heavy machinery today has the task of removing the asphalt that previously covered the two-lane road for each direction, as well as its respective sides.
The economic fund to carry out the work is guaranteed, SIPDUS assured, so that the resource has been available since the construction company was hired, “it is progressing on time and in the correct manner without financial delays, the work is being carried out, without delays in the work,” it indicated.
Given the inconvenience caused by the repaving to both residents and motorists, the Secretariat recalled that there is a Citizens’ Committee for Works that was in charge of socializing the construction plans at the time, the same group being in charge of monitoring compliance with the technical file that marks the actions to be carried out.
Neighbors and residents were informed that the work will be completed in February 2025, “for months they requested the work, insisted on its management, and now we comply with the citizen demand,” said the Secretariat.

He acknowledged that there are details to take care of in order to avoid them, since there are motorists who circulate on the sections that at first glance seem to have been completed, which is a serious mistake.
He also explained that the asphalt is fresh on the inside and can easily sink because it lacks time to dry and compact properly, which is called setting.
In a tour that El Sol de Hidalgo made along the highway, both merchants and users expressed their displeasure at the long time to get to the other side of the work, as well as the decrease in sales for businesses.
On Everardo Márquez Boulevard, it is a commercial area with a wide variety of products for sale from a car to pet food, restaurants, hotels and much more that expressed their displeasure, “during rush hour it is almost impassable, it affects us as vendors a lot in sales because they no longer come because the front is closed due to excavation for drainage or the pouring of cement.”
