Tulum Bans Electronic Music Parties for Winter Season

To support local businesses and tourism, Tulum has announced a ban on electronic music parties during the winter season. This decision aims to ensure tranquility and rest for residents and visitors.

The announcement was made by municipal president Diego Castañon Trejo during a press conference, alongside officials from the Security, Tourism, Civil Protection, and Inspection departments, as well as the Hotel Association.

The ban on electronic music parties in the coastal area is intended to maintain peace and quiet. Parties will be allowed until 1 a.m., with a noise limit of 65 decibels. An exception is made for New Year’s Eve, when parties can continue until 3 a.m.

Despite the regulations, certain areas are designated for musical events to avoid disturbing the peace. These include the cenotes route on federal highway 307 and jungle areas.

Strict enforcement measures will be in place for those who do not comply with the rules on schedules and noise limits. Severe sanctions, including closures, will be imposed on violators. It is recommended to avoid holding events that do not meet the requirements.
