Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum recognized the work done by the previous administration of the state of Veracruz headed by Cuitláhuac García in the construction of the Mental Health Hospital of Orizaba.

She explained that this hospital is well equipped with professional staff, so it will be taken as a reference for the construction of other hospitals in the country.

“The Mental Health Hospital that we went to Orizaba is a very well-prepared hospital, the doctors who are now part of the IMSS welfare are very well-prepared, so we are going to take that as an example, the hospital is going to be a teaching hospital, so that psychiatrists and other important specialties in mental health can be trained there,” said the president.

In this sense, she indicated that former governor Cuitláhuac García did a good job at the head of the state, despite the fact that there are some adversaries who, “because of their honesty, the truth is not their saint of devotion.”

“But Cuitláhuac did a great job, particularly in the area of health. He did several very important works. One of them is the cancer care hospital in Xalapa, which is very impressive. It will have the most modern linear accelerators in the entire country,” said Sheinbaum.

The “Dr. Víctor M. Concha Vásquez” Mental Health Hospital in Orizaba, Veracruz, was inaugurated on December 2, 2024. This inauguration was presided over by President Claudia Sheinbaum, who highlighted that the hospital will represent a national model in the care and prevention of mental health.
