Street Closures in Mérida for Virgin of Guadalupe Celebrations

If your route passes near the San Cristóbal area, please note the following alternative routes due to temporary street closures for the Virgin of Guadalupe festivities.

Closure Dates and Times

The Municipal Police of Mérida (PMM) has announced that street closures will begin on Wednesday, December 11, at 6:00 p.m. and will affect the following roads:

– Calle 50: from Calle 67 to Calle 71

– Calle 69: from Calle 46 to Calle 52

These closures will continue until Thursday, December 12, when a significant increase in torchbearer groups is expected.

Alternative Routes

To avoid delays, the PMM recommends the following alternative routes:

– West: streets 60 and 62

– East: streets 42 and 44

– South: Street 71

– North: streets 65 and 63

Security and Citizen Services

During the festivities, police officers will implement a special traffic operation. Additionally, a citizen service module with paramedics will be set up in San Cristóbal Park to handle any emergencies.

Citizens are urged to take precautions and plan their trips in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Remember to drive carefully, as numerous torch bearers will be traveling through various parts of the city.
