Although violence had decreased in recent days, on Sunday the 8th the alarm bells were once again lit in Tabasco with nine homicides.
According to information from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, this violent Sunday once again placed the state in first place nationally for intentional homicides.
The SESNSP reported that yesterday there were nine murders in the state, as well as in Morelos and Guanajuato.
That day there were 68 intentional homicides in Mexico; while Tabasco, Morelos and Guanajuato occupied first place, the State of Mexico was in second place with six murders; in Jalisco and Veracruz there were four.
Insecurity broke out in Tabasco since the beginning of last October, just at the start of the government of Javier May Rodríguez.
On November 13, the Tabasco governor accused Hernán Bermúdez Requena, who was named Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Tabasco in the administration of Adán Augusto López Hernández, of “commanding” the Barredora, a local criminal group that the new regime accuses of generating the current violence.
Last month, Tabasco was one of the three states in the country where criminals committed massacres in bars in a period of no more than 30 days.
