All security forces in Querétaro have a certificate of trust

Mauricio Kuri González, governor of the state, stressed that Querétaro is the only state in the country in which all members of the security sector have a certificate of trust, an unwavering policy that was established for this administration, because it is the basis of trust in those who care for the people of Querétaro.

“Querétaro is the only state that for four years has had 100% of its police elements certified, I will not allow elements that are not fully trained and certified to go out on the streets,” he warned.

While leading the 2024 Querétaro Proximity Police Graduation Ceremony, in which training certificates and graduation coins were given to representatives of the 123 students who join the Querétaro Police Force, the state leader highlighted that for the third consecutive year the Center for Training, Formation and Research for the Security of the State of Querétaro (Cecafis), delivers results superior to the established goal of 100 police officers per year within the state security program.

During his first year of government at the head of the state, he indicated, 188 new police officers graduated, while in 2023 there were 139 and this year there were 123 new proximity police officers.

“It is also appropriate to recognize the training centers of the Attorney General’s Office, it is a penitentiary issue and the Municipal Guard of Querétaro that add 85 more elements in this 2024, for a total of 208 new and better police officers defending Querétaro this 2024,” he added.

Mauricio Kuri indicated that training police officers is a professional and specialized exercise that requires the coordinated attention of several institutions, obtaining their professional certification according to international parameters, which allows the state to be the only one in the country where all members of the security sector have a certificate of trust.

He indicated that the police career in the state is reviewed every three years to ensure that they remain fit and committed to their work and that they defend other people out of conviction.

He also highlighted the work that the police do in positioning the state as one of the safest entities in the country.

“It gives me great pleasure to see retired police officers who literally gave their lives to the security of Querétaro. If today we are recognized in the country for our peaceful life, you have been a fundamental part of this work for decades, thank you very much.”

For his part, the director of Cecafis, Alberto Luna López, indicated that the basis for defending security is to train professional police officers, and in this vein he described the process that candidates must follow to become Proximity Police.

“They were trained following an academic program validated by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), and under the Querétaro Proximity Police approach. Our Professionalization Model, designed by Dr. Juan Martín Granados Torres, proposes training so that agents authorized in the legal use of force are guarantors of access to justice,” he explained.

He said that 18 elements are integrated into the Corregidora police force, 16 to El Marqués; eight to Amealco; Tequisquiapan, four; Cadereyta, four; Jalpan de Serra, four; San Joaquín, four; San Juan del Río, three; Colón, three; Peñamiller, three; Arroyo Seco, three; Ezequiel Montes, two; Pinal de Amoles, two; Tolimán, one; Pedro Escobedo, one; and 47 to the State Police.

In his speech, the municipal president of Corregidora, Josué David Guerrero Trápala, recognized Mauricio Kuri’s leadership in facing the challenges head on, with determination, vision and, above all, with a deep commitment to the Queretaro families.

Addressing the graduates, he emphasized that from each municipal presidency and the state government they will be given all the support to give them the tools, support and recognition they deserve for the sacrifice that it means to wear the police uniform and carry this responsibility in the soul.

During the event, the Governor swore in the new police officers, and Commander Emigdio Corro León made an appeal to the Queretaro police and graduates of initial training.
