In the framework of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries also agreed to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

They discussed Mexico hosting the VI Meeting of the Binational Commission next year.

Mercado also met in the Italian Senate with legislators who are members of the Mexico-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group, to whom she reiterated “the value that Mexico attributes to parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties.”
