Tamaulipas with the lowest crime prevalence in the country

Security spokesman Jorge Cuéllar Montoya reported that, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Information Technology (INEGI), Tamaulipas ranks first in the country in crime prevalence.

He said that, according to the national survey of business victimization, the institute establishes categories by the number of employees, where 0 to 10 are micro, 11 to 50 are small, 51 to 250 are medium and 251 and above are large companies.

“And I want to inform you with much pleasure and legitimate pride that Tamaulipas ranks first with the best results in crime prevalence in commerce, industry and services; these are the three categories that are addressed, this is done every two years, and well, I think this is good news for Tamaulipas,” he said.

The head of the Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security System also said that, in the same way, Tamaulipas means the safest entity of the states on the northern border with the United States.

Cuellar Montoya assured that impunity has ended in Tamaulipas and listed a series of examples, such as the arrest of a minor, with the initials “BAZGS”, for his probable participation in the assault with a firearm of magistrate Edgar Danés Rojas, events recorded on August 21, 2024 in Ciudad Victoria; the arrest of Melany’s aggressor, in Ciudad Madero on October 31 for the crime of attempted femicide; the murder of businessman Julio Almanza Armas in Matamoros, where the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJET) accelerated the investigation file.

“Another relevant case is the murder of the Ciudad Mante candidate, where the arrest warrant was executed against Eliud ‘N’, for qualified homicide in April 2024.

Another well-known, highly publicized case is that the state prosecutor’s office also arrested three individuals related to the kidnapping of José Ventura in August 2024 in the City of Reynosa. As well as these cases, work is being done specifically at the Peace Building Roundtable,” said the security spokesman.
