The Jalisco Tourism Secretariat, headed by Michelle Fridman, conducted a working tour of the municipality of Chapala with the aim of strengthening the tourism promotion of the region. During the visit, representative spaces such as the Main Plaza, the Cultural Center and the Ajijic Boardwalk were visited.
Within the framework of these activities, Fridman met with Alejandro Aguirre Curiel, Municipal President of Chapala, to follow up on the decalogue of actions promoted by the state government, under the administration of Pablo Lemus Navarro, Governor of Jalisco. These actions seek to consolidate the Chapala Riverbank as a strategic destination within state and national tourism.
The tour included a dialogue with local authorities and community representatives, with the purpose of designing joint strategies that integrate cultural, architectural and tourism infrastructure aspects. The initiative also aims to strengthen the services and tourist offerings of Ajijic, declared a Magical Town in 2020.
This visit represents a first step in inter-institutional coordination to position the Ribera de Chapala as a competitive destination that combines cultural heritage, modernity and quality tourist experiences.
With these actions, the Government of Jalisco seeks to boost the local economy and attract a greater number of visitors, highlighting the potential of the region as one of the main tourist gems of the state.
