The Christmas spirit is already alive in the streets of this charming city, as the Nativity scene that will be set up for the Christmas celebration in the main garden is already ready. This carefully decorated setting has begun to attract visitors, who come to take photos next to the traditional Nativity scene. In this same place, on the night of December 24, the lullaby of the Child Jesus will take place, a moment much awaited by the faithful.
Ángeles Almanza, in charge of placing the Nativity scene in the San Miguel kiosk, commented enthusiastically on the preparations. She has been responsible for bringing this representation to life, which is ready to receive hundreds of people who will congregate in the heart of the municipality.
The traditional posada will begin on Tuesday, December 24, at 7:00 p.m., when the pilgrims leave the Santa Ana temple. The route will take place along some of the main streets of San Miguel, starting at the church and continuing along Insurgentes, Pepe Llanos, Juárez, San Francisco, Corregidora, Correo, Murillo, Portal Allende, until reaching the Kiosk of the Main Garden.
At each step of the route, the faithful will sing Christmas carols that invite people to ask for lodging, recreating one of the most beloved traditions of Mexico. Upon reaching the kiosk, where the Nativity scene is located, the pilgrims will ask for lodging and, as is customary, the priest of the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel will perform the lullaby of the Baby Jesus, an act that symbolizes the arrival of the Savior and fills the attendees with devotion and hope.
The atmosphere in the Main Garden will be warm and festive, with the active participation of local residents and visitors who join this celebration every year. The posada is not only a time to share faith, but also to enjoy the conviviality and Christmas atmosphere that characterizes San Miguel de Allende during these dates.
