A man who was inside a taxi in Baja California abandoned the vehicle after security agents approached to inspect the vehicle because it was blocking the traffic lanes. It should be noted that a kidnapped person was inside the unit and when following the suspect, the agents found more suspects.

The events were reported by the Baja California Security Secretariat on December 30. The report indicates that it was in Mexicali, specifically on General Jesús Carranza Avenue in the Benito Juárez neighborhood, that the agents saw the unit blocking the way.

Faced with this situation, the officers of the Citizen Security Force (FESC) turned on the lights and turrets, which caused the man who was in a white Nissan Versa to run towards a building. A person was found in the trunk of the unit with the label “Taxi.”

“When trying to approach the driver of the aforementioned unit, he abruptly got off and ran into a house,” is part of what was reported by the security institution.

“Lucifer” and “El Gordo” arrested

The security agents followed the man to a building where a second kidnapping victim was found, in addition to the fact that the uniformed officers found two women and five men, who were arrested.

Among the people captured there is a woman identified with the alias Lucifer, as well as a man nicknamed El Gordo. All those captured are from the state capital.

They are Geovani “N”, 24 years old; Carlos Aarón “N”, alias “El Gordo” 23 years old; Ángel Gabriel “N”, 44 years old; Gitsia Carolina “N”, alias “Caro” and “Tecozon” 22 years old; María Lucía “N”, alias “Lucifer” 42 years old; Jesús Ismael “N”, 21 years old; and Carlos René “N”, 50 years old.

During the operation, elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Defense) supported guarding the perimeter and during the transfer of the seven people. The report of the authorities does not indicate if those now captured would be linked to any organized crime group.

“The two women and the five men were immobilized with handcuffs, and taken to the FESC base, to carry out the corresponding procedure; later they were placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE),” can be read in the report of the state Security Secretariat.
