For the third consecutive year, representatives of the media of San Cristóbal de las Casas invite citizens and surrounding towns to participate in the Third Poetic and Humorous Creation Contest (calaveritas), the closing of the call will be on October 31, so those interested can register during the 15 days remaining in the month.
In this regard, the conveners are already receiving the works until October 31, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. and the results will be published on November 5, according to the call, the “calaveras” must be written with an extension of no more than 10 stanzas, well versified, with symmetry, rhyme and with white humor for publication, with free themes, and must not have offensive expressions or obscene words.
“The humorous work(s), (maximum three), must be sent digitally to the email [email protected] with the following information: title of the literary work, full name of the sender, pseudonym, cell phone number, or WhatsApp number so that if you are one of the winners you will be notified or called immediately. The works must be original. If any evidence of plagiarism is found, they will be automatically eliminated,” said Enoc Gordillo Aguilar, one of the organizers.

He added that the jury will be made up of experts on the subject whose decision will be final, and he indicated that the prizes will be for first place 1,500 pesos, second place 1,000, third place 500 and fourth place 250 pesos, “they will be delivered personally if they are locals and for foreigners it will be sent to a bank account they have available or by some other means they indicate, on November 7 of this year.”
