What is a landslide?
Landslides are movements of earth, rocks and vegetation that fall off a hillside. These can destroy everything in their path and are very dangerous.
These landslides are caused by intense rains, thaws, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and gravity. For this reason, it is very important to carry out stability studies, apply consolidation techniques and reforest.
Landslides are divided into active and inactive ones. The former are slopes in constant movement and the latter are inactive and there is no record of movement and they can be reactivated by natural factors.
According to some statistics, 40% of landslides occur due to heavy rains, so the climate plays an important role in their occurrence.
