The vehicle registration fee is an annual tax for the use of a license plate, ensuring proper identification of the vehicle and its owner. According to the Mexican Government’s procedures portal, the requirements for the 2025 vehicle registration fee are:
– Current Official Identification: This can be a voter’s credential, driver’s license, professional ID, military card, or passport, valid for the remainder of the year.
– Proof of Address: This document must be no older than three months; accepted forms include water, telephone, and electricity bills.
– Registration Card: The vehicle’s papers must be current and free of fines or other penalties.
Prices and Dates for 2025 Vehicle Renewal:
Yucatán:
– The vehicle renewal process will be completely free and can be done online. The only requirements are the license plate number and the vehicle serial number.
Campeche:
– From January 2 to March 31, cash registers will be available to cover the cost of this tax, and payment can also be made online. Estimated costs are similar to the previous period:
– Vehicles in general: 325.59 pesos
– Motorcycles, scooters, tricycles, four-wheelers, and similar: 108.57 pesos
Quintana Roo:
– From January 1 to 31, 2025, the cost will be:
– Cars, vans, trucks, buses, and trailers: 728 pesos
– Motorcycles: 478 pesos
– Additionally, you will need the last issued circulation card and proof of payment for the Vehicle Use or Ownership Tax.
After the first period, prices may increase, and updates will be provided through the official channels of the transportation authorities of each state. The deadline for the 2025 vehicle renewal is March 31.
