The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo, in collaboration with the Interinstitutional Task Force 100 Days Benito Juárez, arrested five individuals in flagrante delicto. Among them is Raúl “N”, alias “Güero Palma”, identified as the leader of a criminal group involved in drug sales and extortion in Costa Mujeres, Isla Mujeres.
The arrests of Raúl “N”, Axel Raúl “N”, Kevin Yahir “N”, Josefina Candelaria “N”, and Kimberly “N” occurred at the intersection of Arco Vial and Rancho Viejo avenues, on the border between Benito Juárez and Isla Mujeres. These individuals are linked to possible crimes against health, including drug dealing and violations of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.
During the inspection, authorities seized bags containing marijuana and a solid, whitish substance resembling crystal meth. Additionally, a 9 mm handgun with a loaded magazine and a Nissan Frontier vehicle with Yucatan state license plates were confiscated.
The five detainees were also served with an arrest warrant for their probable involvement in extortion crimes, to the detriment of a victim whose identity remains confidential. The suspects and evidence were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Various agencies participated in the operation, including the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of the State, in a joint effort to combat organized crime in the region.
