The housing deficit in Nuevo León continues to be one of the greatest challenges for the development of the state. The General Director of the Nuevo León Housing Institute, Eugenio Montiel Amoroso, reported that around 28,000 affordable homes are required each year to meet the growing demand, especially in light of the migration phenomenon that has driven population growth and demand for homes.
He added that, to address this problem, the Government of the State of Nuevo León, together with Infonavit and the Federal Government, has launched a joint strategy that seeks to strengthen the construction of housing.
“The Nuevo León Housing Institute (IVNL) plays a key role in the coordination of these efforts, working to streamline administrative procedures and optimize the authorization and execution processes of housing projects. The objective is to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate the prompt availability of land and resources for construction, which is why we are working with the municipalities so that they also support us,” said Montiel Amoroso.
With these actions, the authorities seek to guarantee broader access to affordable and accessible housing for all sectors of the population of Nuevo León, thus contributing to reducing the housing deficit and improving the quality of life of the state’s inhabitants.
