The Gastronomic Route project is ready to be promoted during the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), said Gerardo Valadez Victorio, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) Riviera Maya.

The restaurant leader said that, after concluding the field work, this project was presented to the municipal Tourism Secretariat to be included in the city brand.

He explained that it is a map with a QR code that includes 85 percent of the city’s gastronomic businesses, with their specifications such as location and type of food, among other details.

“We made a map of all the restaurants we have in Playa and made some routes according to the food they have,” he said.

The project, he said, covers practically the entire city and it is hard work to gather information from the restaurants to offer as much information as possible to the visitor.

He pointed out that Canirac will be presenting this as the biggest strategy to promote the destination.

On the other hand, when referring to the night of December 31, the restaurant leader mentioned that they did meet all expectations by registering full occupancy in the establishments.

He affirmed that the members of Canirac expect the season to continue with high numbers until March.
