The Ministry of Public Education (SEP), through its head Mario Delgado Carrillo, invites mothers, fathers and guardians to participate in the pre-registration process to enter the 2nd and 3rd grade of preschool, 1st grade of primary school and 1st grade of secondary school in public schools of Basic Education in Mexico City, for the 2025-2026 school year.
The pre-registration process will take place from January 8 to February 14, 2025, exclusively online, through the website https://preinscripciones.aefcm.gob.mx/, of the Federal Education Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM). Those interested should register their sons, daughters and wards according to the initial letter of the student’s first surname, following the pre-registration calendar detailed below:
January
8 to 10: A and B
11 to 13: C
14 to 16: D, E and F
17 to 19: G
20 to 23: H, I, J and K
24 to 26: L
27 to 31: M
February
1 to 4: N, Ñ, P and O
5 to 8: Q and R
9 to 14: S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z
The Secretary of Public Education reiterated that the pre-registration and enrollment process for public schools in the country’s capital is completely free. If you are unable to register on the assigned day, you can do so on any other day within the established period.
Parents and guardians will also be able to consult the catalog of schools and their location, as well as the Unique Population Registration Code (CURP) of minors, on the official website www.aefcm.gob.mx/preinscripciones-gob.mx.
Finally, it was announced that starting May 6, 2025, the call for the pre-registration process for 1st grade of preschool will be published, with dates established for registration between May 19 and 29 on the same AEFCM website.
This process aims to guarantee free access for students to the educational services offered by the Government of Mexico, ensuring their right to education from the first levels.
