In a shocking incident in Simón Sarlat, Centla, Tabasco, a man identified as Eleazar “N” was lynched and burned alive by a group of residents. Eleazar “N” was accused of attacking and fatally injuring another man, Manuel “N,” with a knife.
Videos of the lynching were posted on social media by the residents involved. According to initial reports, after the attack on Manuel “N,” residents chased Eleazar “N,” immobilized him, beat him, and dragged him through the streets before setting him on fire.
Footage of the incident shows several police officers present at the scene, but they did not intervene directly while the man was being beaten and burned. Authorities arrived later to retrieve the body but were unable to prevent the tragedy.
Personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tabasco have begun gathering evidence and conducting investigations. The Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) has taken charge of removing both bodies. As of now, state authorities have not released official information about the incident.
