The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported on the actions carried out in the state of Nuevo Leon against criminal groups, activities that include sentences, seizures and dismantling during the past year.
Intelligence reports indicate that the actions reported by the institution headed by Alejandro Gertz Manero on Sunday, January 5, represent an impact on at least five criminal structures: the Sinaloa Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, the Beltrán Leyva Cartel and Los Mandilones.
The official report highlights that during the past year, 72 operations were carried out against criminal structures, which generated more than 3 thousand investigation files.

Organized crime groups in Nuevo Leon
Recent reports indicate that there are five criminal structures in Nuevo Leon, however, a map published by the State Commission on Human Rights (CEDH) of Michoacán on the 10 regional cartels of the country only locates the Sinaloa Cartel and the Northeast Cartel in the entity.
The Beltrán Leyva gang does appear on the map mentioned above, but operating in Morelos and Nayarit. In the case of the Gulf Cartel, this group has a presence in Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosí.
The Mandilones are a local group linked to migrant trafficking.
