Surfer dies after disappearing in waves at Miramar beach, Tamaulipas

On Sunday afternoon, a surfer died in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, a tragic event that shocked the local community and water sports enthusiasts.

The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m., when the surfer, who was enjoying the waves at Miramar Beach in Tamaulipas with his companions, suddenly disappeared, which led to the activation of a search protocol.

Ricardo Aguirre, head of Civil Protection of Ciudad Madero, reported that, given the lack of location of the surfer, emergency procedures were activated. The Navy (Semar) went to the rescue with an interceptor patrol, and after conducting a tour of the area, they managed to locate the body of the surfer. He was recovered and taken to the dock located on Carranza Street, in the La Barra neighborhood, on the Pánuco River.

Various security forces, including the Navy, Civil Protection, firefighters and agents from the Attorney General’s Office, attended the scene of the incident. They were in charge of the corresponding proceedings and of opening an investigation file to better understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
