When he left his home to answer a phone call, a man was shot dead by armed men riding a motorcycle in the Santa Cecilia neighborhood in the municipality of Apodaca.
The incident occurred at 7:45 p.m. yesterday, Friday, at the intersection of Framboyán and Octavio Paz streets, where the young man lived with his family.
According to reports, the young man, identified as Kevin Salvador Vázquez, 21 years old, nicknamed “La Bomba,” was preparing for his birthday party with family and friends, when he received a phone call that made him leave his home.
When he reached the corner, he was surprised by the gunmen, who fired at least seven times, fleeing at full speed. Meanwhile, the victim’s family called for help.
When the paramedics arrived to give him first aid, they confirmed that the young man no longer showed signs of life. Ministerial agents from the homicide group and Apodaca police cordoned off the area, where the man’s body was found face down and various shells from a .223 caliber AR-15 rifle.
Authorities also indicated that they will review videos from nearby security cameras to locate the attackers, in addition to collecting testimonies from witnesses of the events.
On the other hand, another execution took place last night in the municipality of Zuazua, where a young man was shot to death by three armed men who broke into his home on Duque Escalona Street, in the Real de Palmas neighborhood.
The executed man was identified as Fernando Javier, 26 years old, who had between seven and nine bullet wounds on his body.
Another death was reported on Saturday morning outside a bar in downtown Monterrey, where a man was found lying on the floor.
The events occurred at the establishment called “La Tornaboda”, located on Reforma Street, near its intersection with Rayón. According to the authorities, the deceased, about 50 years old, was wearing a white shirt and jeans, and at first glance no signs of violence were visible, so it could be a natural death.
