Reservations at hotels in Mazatlán have increased by 50 percent for the date of the next Mazatlán International Carnival, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism.

Tourism Secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna commented that despite the fact that some violent incidents have been reported in the port, this does not seem to have affected the projections for the celebration.

“We are already seeing an increase in reservations, so I invite all citizens and those who have relatives to encourage them to make reservations, because in past years, when they want to arrive there are no reservations,” she declared.

The state official also pointed out that it is expected that during the Mazatlán Carnival the State will receive visits from national and international tourists, reaching 100 percent hotel occupancy.
