Expansion of Progreso’s Deepwater Port to Begin January 11 with 1,500 Million Peso Investment

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena has announced that the expansion of the Deepwater Port in Progreso, Yucatán, will commence on January 11, with an initial investment of 1,500 million pesos.

During a press conference, Díaz Mena emphasized that this project aims to transform Progreso into a world-class logistics hub, which is crucial for the state’s economic development. The Navy will oversee the project to ensure adherence to standards and deadlines.

The governor also outlined several projects for 2025, acknowledging that 2024 ended with a 300 million peso deficit. Among the priority actions for this year is the commencement of the dredging works at the Deepwater Port of Progreso.
