It is not always necessary to remove the entire frame of the license plate holder of cars to avoid fines, as stated by the commissioner of the Jalisco traffic police, Jorge Arizpe, who details that it is only necessary to release the QR and not obstruct the vision of the letters and numbers of the plate.
Although it has been indicated that starting Thursday, January 9, people who carry frames known as license plate holders in their vehicles will begin to be fined for security reasons, Arizpe insists that only the vision of the QR of the plate should be freed and here he explains it.
“This one here must be cut (upper right corner) because in this part the code is found, that is, if the driver cuts the frame so that the QR is free, can I use it? Or can you put the frame back – It is said to remove it completely, not only leaving the QR, you can leave the frame because it is like the cell phone.”
The traffic police commissioner clarifies that the measure is not for collection but for prevention, since with it stolen vehicles can be detected and the legality of these, which will serve to identify them when the owners report them.
Tapatíos consider exaggerated fines for carrying license plate covers
Starting next Thursday, January 9, an operation will begin by the authorities of Jalisco to sanction those who use license plate covers on their cars
On Thursday, January 9, fines begin for motorists who do not release the visibility of the license plates of their car, for which the commissioner of the traffic police, Jorge Arizpe, indicates that these are not operations but routine inspections in which the element will be able to determine if he will issue the fine or a warning.
“The officer may sanction him or he may prevent him by telling him to remove it. What is the indication? – The indication is that it is not a collection and that awareness must be raised and I cannot get into the heads of the officers because we do not all think the same, but I am telling them that it is not a collection because it is not about annoying people, I am simply interested in the QR code and the numbers because the c5 cameras do not take the data and if you report a stolen car and if you have the QR covered, the stolen vehicle detection arches will never detect it.”
Remind the population that from tomorrow the QR must be released from the license plate or the frame that holds it removed, otherwise they may be subject to fines of up to 21 thousand pesos.
The authorities of Jalisco insist that the measure will provide benefits to the motorists themselves who have suffered some theft or to regulate their papers.
