Officers from the State Preventive Police of the Jalisco Security Secretariat and the Metropolitan Police arrested three men carrying a firearm and for alleged usurpation of functions.
The events occurred on Vallarta Avenue and Marsella, in the Americana neighborhood in Guadalajara, during the Chapultepec – Americana Targeted Operation, where the police observed the suspicious-looking occupants in a black sedan with Michoacán license plates.
When they were stopped, they were routinely inspected following established security protocols, and found a firearm, apparently caliber .22, and a sharp object.
The individuals tried to identify themselves by presenting credentials that appeared to be police officers, however, when they were verified in official databases, it was found that they did not correspond to authentic records.
For the above, Leonardo N., 29, Victor N., 36, and Jose N., 27, were arrested and presented before a Federal Public Prosecutor.
The Chapultepec-Americana Targeted Operation is carried out with elements of the Strategic Operations Forces for Citizen Protection (FOEP) of the Secretariat of Security in coordination with the Metropolitan Police with the objective of strengthening security in the area.
