Following up on the strategy to attract new investments in the State, promoted by the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, with which projects have arrived that benefit the state economy, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño agreed with the Government of Mexico on the actions to be undertaken for initiatives such as the manufacture of the Olinia electric car, as well as the sustainable use of mining activity in the state.
In a meeting with Fernando José Aboitiz Saro, head of the Extractive Activities Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Economy, the governor addressed the issues of extraction projects in the State, and the use of wastewater for mining, as well as the exploitation of essential minerals for the Sonora Plan, such as copper.
We continue to promote sustainable mining and attract strategic investments, such as the ‘Olinia’ electric car, which consolidate Sonora as a national benchmark in sustainable development,” he commented.
Together with Francisco Acuña Méndez, executive president of the Council for Sustainable Development of the State of Sonora (Codeso), Governor Durazo Montaño addressed the project for the construction of the Olinia electric car, supported by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, which will be manufactured in Sonora.
The state leader added that the Sonora Plan gives added value to primary production for the well-being of families in the state, promoting that the mining resources obtained from the state be used for sustainable development projects such as the Olinia car.
