Attempted Arson at Mazatlán Plaza Food Establishment

At approximately 11:20 a.m., two masked men allegedly attempted to set fire to a food establishment inside a shopping plaza on Reforma Avenue in Mazatlán.

The suspects entered the food area, doused the business with gasoline, and set it on fire before fleeing. Nearby individuals and a security guard quickly extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading.

Witnesses reported seeing a sudden flash of flame, causing panic among those preparing to open their businesses. Thanks to the swift response of bystanders, the fire was contained.

The Mazatlán Fire Department, Civil Protection, and Municipal Police arrived at the scene. The police interviewed the potential owners of the establishment, which offers tortas.
