Yhorel “N” has been formally charged with the crime of handling a corpse, accused of moving the lifeless body of Julio “N” from inside a motel to the street in downtown Mérida. He will remain in custody as the legal process unfolds.
The Yucatán Prosecutor’s Office secured the charges against Yhorel after presenting evidence in criminal case 514/2024. The incident occurred on December 24, when Yhorel allegedly moved Julio’s body, who had died inside a motel in the Centro de Mérida neighborhood.
Prosecutors requested the continuation of preventive detention for one month to complete the investigation.
What Happened to the Body Found Outside the Motel?
On the night of December 24, Julio “N”‘s lifeless body was discovered outside a motel on 50th Street between 67 and 67 A in downtown Mérida. Initially, it was believed he died of natural causes while with a sex worker. However, further investigations revealed a more complex scenario involving multiple individuals.
Unofficial reports suggest that Julio entered the motel ‘Las Delicias de la 50’ with a woman offering intimate services. Upon seeing Julio’s money, the woman allegedly drugged him. Julio realized this and called for help, but the motel managers intervened, allegedly beating him until he died.
An employee, Yhorel, was then ordered to move the body to the entrance of another nearby motel, where municipal police later found it. Yhorel has been arrested and charged, and Rosendo “N”, the motel manager, has also been detained.
