Corruption network dismantled to seize land in Veracruz; it involves officials of the state Judicial Branch

In a special and large-scale operation, elements of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Veracruz carried out the arrest of the first six people involved in a corruption network that allegedly involves officials of the State’s Judicial Branch.

Agents of the Attorney General’s Office of Ministerial Investigations achieved since yesterday the first six arrests of a former judge, two judicial clerks and three civilians involved in the illegal dispossession of land in southern Veracruz.

This is Francisco Javier “N”, former Second Judge of First Instance based in Coatzacoalcos, indicated as likely responsible for the crimes of abuse of authority, failure to comply with a legal duty and equivalent prevarication.

Also arrested were María Cristina “N” and Manuel “N”, clerks in the Second Court of First Instance in Coatzacoalcos, as likely responsible for the crimes of abuse of authority, against public faith and failure to comply with a legal duty.

In addition, during the operation, citizens José Isabel “N”, Adriana “N” and Florentina “N” were arrested as probable perpetrators of the crimes of dispossession, use of false documents, falsehood before the authority and procedural fraud.

All of them are involved in an alleged extensive corruption network to dispossess land in southern Veracruz.

The detainees were placed at the disposal of the judge of control and oral criminal procedure in Pacho Viejo, who ordered justified preventive detention as a precautionary measure, within the criminal process 11/2025.

According to police sources, the special operation remains active in various regions of the state to find all the alleged members of the corruption network.
