The aftermath of violence in Sinaloa is slowing down investment in the construction industry, said Hugo Omar Peraza Ponce.

The president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry in Mazatlán, mentioned that the contraction of investment has been up to 40%, despite the fact that in this municipality violence and insecurity are less compared to the state capital.

“This contraction of investment is already noticeable, the caution of investors, the pace of work that was being done, is already noticeable that it has dropped, I consider it 40%,” he said.

The chamber leader celebrated the announcement of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, to request a loan of 2.3 billion pesos for the economic reactivation of the entity.

He stressed that the construction sector is one of the most important and through high-impact works, expectations of a pace of work that allows a more sustainable and thriving economy can be generated.

“The construction industry activates production chains, which number around 17. When there is construction, there is an impact, there is a circulating economy that generates jobs, transportation, services, production of materials, and an endless number of economic issues through other sectors that are activated,” he added.
