In demand for the arrest of the alleged attackers of a man, residents of the community of San Isidro Miranda in the municipality of El Marqués blocked the Mexico-Querétaro federal highway.
To do so, the protesters sprayed gasoline on tires which they then set on fire, blocking both directions of the underpass known as El Matador and later the Mexico-Querétaro 57 highway.
At the site, the protesters narrated that the attack occurred on October 7 when the victim was beaten and stabbed by a group of individuals in the town of La Huerta, which has caused him to undergo five surgeries, for which he remains hospitalized.
According to a brother of the victim, his relative is 40 years old and was heading home to eat, but when he arrived outside the house a group of individuals assaulted him, in addition to beating him, kicking him and finally leaving him injured with a sharp weapon in various parts of the body.
He claimed that even though his sister was the victim, now judicial authorities allegedly want to hold him responsible for the events.
They told us that there is an arrest warrant against him and that they are going to arrest him and take him to the Cereso (Social Reintegration Center) as soon as he is released from the hospital,” he said.
It was for this reason, they said, that they agreed to block the federal highway in order to make the case visible and for the authorities to proceed as they should.
