Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García recently met with Yucatán Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena to discuss development strategies and port connectivity between the two states. The meetings, held in Veracruz, focused on leveraging the state’s position as Mexico’s primary port and most significant fiscal precinct.
Governor Díaz Mena attended sessions with the Association of Customs Agents of Veracruz (AAAPVER) and the Administration of the National Port System of Veracruz (ASIPONA). During these meetings, Governor Nahle highlighted the commercial benefits of strategic infrastructure like the fiscal precincts of Veracruz and Puerto Progreso for both states.
“Sharing experiences and projects with neighboring states strengthens the south-southeast. It is a pleasure to welcome our dear friend Huacho Díaz Mena, governor of Yucatán, with whom we met at the Port of Veracruz. There are many coincidences!” emphasized Governor Nahle.
Governor Díaz Mena also met with Admiral Carlos Velázquez Tiscareño, Director of ASIPONA Veracruz, to enhance collaboration and coordinate efforts for the benefit of the Yucatecan port. Additionally, he discussed strategies with AAAPVER associates to streamline processes in Puerto Progreso.
“I am very pleased to be in Veracruz with Governor @rocionahle and the Secretary of Economic and Port Development of Veracruz, @PerezAstorgaE. Together we talked about key projects for regional development, such as the modernization of the Deepwater Port of Progreso, a strategic axis to strengthen trade and connectivity in the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you very much for receiving us!” Díaz Mena wrote on social media.
