A violent robbery occurred at the Arte Joyero jewelry store in the Gran Plaza shopping center in Cancun, Quintana Roo, causing panic among visitors as gunshots were heard inside the mall.
Preliminary reports indicate that armed men broke into the jewelry store with the intent to steal valuables. The total amount stolen has not yet been reported.
Following the incident, the jewelry store managers contacted the authorities to report the robbery and assist with the investigation. Police arrived at the scene to collect evidence and review security camera footage to identify the perpetrators.
No arrests or injuries have been reported, although a woman was treated by paramedics for a nervous breakdown.
