Once again, a person was murdered in front of his family in the town of Santa María Moyotzingo, municipality of San Martín Texmelucan, after he went there attracted by the offer of a car advertised on Facebook Marketplace, although it was only a trick to steal his money.

The Secretary of State Security, Francisco González, reported that they will implement an information and security campaign in that town to warn the population of Puebla and neighboring entities about the modus operandi of these gangs that advertise supposed offers of vehicles on Facebook, although they only seek to attract victims with money to rob them.

This Sunday, a family traveled from the state of Hidalgo with the hope of buying a truck at a very low price, but upon arriving in Moyotzingo, they were intercepted by armed subjects who took the cash they were carrying to buy the unit.

When they resisted, they were shot by the assailants, so a man, approximately 48 years old, was injured and died after being transferred to the San Martín Texmelucan Comprehensive Hospital.

The Secretary of Security said that, to warn the population about this type of scams that are spread on social networks and lead to violent assaults, a campaign of spots will be launched in the media that will be broadcast not only in Puebla, but in entities such as Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and Mexico City, which is where most of the people who fall for these lures come from.

He added that operations will also be implemented in coordination with the National Guard, the Army and the municipal police of San Martín Texmelucan to dismantle this type of gangs that operate particularly in Moyotzingo, but also in other localities of this entity.
