On Monday night, January 13, a major operation was deployed by elements of the Citizen Security Secretariat, due to the attempted escape of a driver who was about to be arrested.
The incident occurred on the Hermanos Serdán Boulevard in the city of Puebla, heading towards the La María bridge, near the Marriott Hotel.
Municipal police officers on board an official motorcycle and on foot, caught up with a red Camaro-type sports car, which was stopped in traffic on the boulevard.

The driver was allegedly related to some crime, so the officers insisted that he get out of the car, however he refused and activated the door locks.
A motorist who was stopped in front of the police, and a witness who observed everything from the elevated bike lane on Hermanos Serdán Boulevard, recorded the attempted arrest with their cell phone.
The officers decided to point a gun at him and try to break the windows to force him to get out of the vehicle to put him at the disposal of the authorities. The subject makes a maneuver to free the motorcycle from the police and drives off against the officers to escape.
At that moment, the Municipal Police officers opened fire on the moving vehicle. It was streets further down where the unit was stopped and the driver was arrested.
During the series of shots, a female police officer from the Citizen Security Secretariat was injured and is reported to be out of danger.
After the chase, the man was arrested and transferred to the Rancho Colorado facilities. According to data from the authorities, the 31-year-old man would be charged from 2023 for crimes against health and possible theft of a cargo truck.
